Voiding Checks

Voiding checks involves 5 main steps where you work with 1 wizard:

ü Select bank account.
ü Search for and select check(s) to void.
ü Enter check range: Void Checks Wizard.
ü Verify checks to void.

Access Accounts Payable or Payroll

1. From the Main Menu screen, click CHECKS. The Process Checks Wizard is initiated.
2. Click on the toolbar, or click and select “Void Posted Checks.” The Void Checks screen appears with all printed checks for a selected bank displayed in a table.

Select Bank Account

3. Select the bank you want to work with from the view drop-down list. All checks for that bank will display in the table.

Search For and Select Check(s) to Void

4. Select how you want to order the checks table from the ordered by drop-down list.
5. Type your search criteria into the search for field and click GO. The table will sort accordingly.
6. Highlight the check/first check in a series you want to work with and click again. The Void Checks Wizard is initiated. (The Void Checks Wizard can only be accessed after selecting an uncleared check that is available for voiding.)

Enter Check Range

7. Enter the numbers of the first and last checks in the range you want to void. (Enter the same number for both if you are voiding only one check.)
8. Click START to continue. The range of checks to be voided display in a table on the second step of the wizard. (If a range of checks includes a check already cleared it will NOT display here.)

Verify Checks to Void

9. The table’s leftmost column is labeled “Void?” and contains values of “Yes” and “No.” All checks with a “Yes” in this column will be voided. To change a single check from “Yes” to “No” (or vice versa), double-click the check in the table.
10. Click NEXT to continue.
11. Review and confirm the checks you have selected to void and click FINISH. You have successfully voided checks!
