Adding Landlords

Access Section 8

1. From the Main Menu screen, click LANDLORDS. The Browse Landlords screen appears with all active landlords displayed in a table.

SSN or EIN?

2. Click on the toolbar and select the type of ID number you are entering (select EIN if a business name, and SSN if a personal name). The Maintain Landlords screen opens with Landlord Data tab selected.
3. Enter the landlord ID (SSN or EIN) and press the TAB key on your keyboard to continue.

Enter Landlord/Property Owner Info

4. Enter the landlord’s/manager’s first name and last name. If you are adding a business, enter the business name in the last name field (this ensures easier sorting and browsing). If entering a person name, make sure to enter the first and last name separately!
5. Type in the landlord’s/manager’s full address, hold code, ext. vendor #, contract #, and PHA ID. If the landlord/manager participates in direct deposit, enter their bank account information (if they don’t, uncheck the direct deposit checkbox).
6. Click to save your changes.

Enter Owner - 1099 Info (if necessary)

7. If the property owner’s information differs from the landlord’s information (e.g. the landlord is a property manager for a different individual or business that actually owns the units in question), switch to the Owner - 1099 tab and click to make the tab available for entry.
8. Enter the owner’s identifying information and specify their MBE settings.
9. Click to save your changes. You have successfully added a landlord!
